"During our drive, I stopped at Shirayama Roadside Station with my two children for a restroom break. The exterior has a calming atmosphere, and the surrounding area is full of nature, so just getting out of the car felt refreshing.
Inside the building, local vegetables and local specialties were lined up, and it was fun just to look at them. The rest area on the second floor was particularly log cabin-style, and the warmth of the wood was palpable. There were also sofas, so it was great to sit back and relax.
There was also a river behind the roadside station, and we splashed around in it for a bit. The water was very clear, and even just dipping our feet in it felt cool and refreshing, which was fun for both children and adults. I felt that being able to take a short break in the middle of nature was one of the charms of this roadside station.
Although it was a short stop, it was more than just a restroom break, and it was a place I'd like to visit again on another drive."
