What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests consistently praise Ishiuchi Onsen for its exceptional food, friendly staff, and relaxing onsen. The dog-friendly policy is a significant draw for pet owners. However, the remote location of Ishiuchi Station and potential stair access in some rooms are noted drawbacks.
"Great food — both dinner and breakfast were incredible.
But please be aware of the location. The shuttle only goes to Ishiuchi Station, and I wish they had explained how remote it actually is. Ishiuchi Station is basically in the middle of nowhere — no staff, no shops, no taxis, nothing open, and Google Maps train times were completely wrong. I was stuck there for over two hours with no way to get anywhere.
Do NOT get dropped off at Ishiuchi Station. If they offer shuttle service to Ishiuchi station just request taxi. Taking a taxi directly to Echigo-Yuzawa Station (just one stop away) will save you a huge amount of time and stress(Especially during winter, it is freezing cold and nowhere to warm yourself inside train station) If I have known I would take taxi to Echigo-Yuzawa is a real station with taxis, shops, and reliable transportation."

"Enjoyed the stay. Our room is western style. There is elevator so no worries about heavy luggages. The hotel looks newly renovated, it's clean and thoughtful. There are signs on the floor to indicate directions. The outdoor baths are nice too. Food is delightful and a lot. The staff service is friendly as well. No worries if you don't speak Japanese. I quite like the fact they WhatsApp you before check-in so there is a open line of communication if there are changes or if you need help.
Recommended."
