"It actually holds a piece of history that I want to see. The Muramasa Katana. It's legend......its myth.....Muramasa fascinates me. And to actually see it would be that much more rewarding. I discovered it through a tale, that I thought was just a myth, but later found out it was a reality. And it exist. Thanks Google Maps"

"Visited in the afternoon of July 31, 2025

This museum is located near Kyuka Park, the former site of Kuwana Castle, in Kuwana City.
I stopped in here while cycling around Kuwana that day.
The museum had a variety of exhibits related to Kuwana's history, culture, and customs, and I thoroughly enjoyed it."

"I went to see the summer exhibition "Matsudaira Sadanobu and Edo Culture." Items related to Matsudaira Sadanobu and Edo culture at the time were on display at the venue. This exhibition focused on Sadanobu as a man of culture, and included calligraphy and paintings by Sadanobu himself. It seems that he was quite good at painting. There was also a manuscript of "Nihon Gaishi" presented to Sadanobu by Rai Sanyo, which came with a booklet detailing Sadanobu's impressions after reading it.

I think this exhibition was held under the influence of the historical drama "Berabou." Sadanobu is in conflict with Tanuma Okitsugu, who is said to be the other main character of the drama, and he also punishes the main character Tsutaya Juzaburo, so I think he will be the villain in the drama, but how will he be portrayed specifically? That's something I'm curious about, but if you watch this exhibition while thinking about that, you might enjoy it quite a bit.

As other people have said in their reviews, if you are expecting to learn about Kuwana's history and folklore, you will be disappointed.
The "Kuwana Senbazuru" exhibit is certainly eye-catching, but I don't think it's the only thing Kuwana has. To talk about the "Kuwana Senbazuru", it was invented by a monk called Roshimaan Gido, who was the head priest of Choenji Temple during the Edo period, and it involves folding from two to a maximum of 97 cranes from a single piece of paper by simply cutting slits. In 1976, it was designated an intangible cultural property of Kuwana City.
The style may be centered around special exhibitions, but as someone from outside, I would have liked to see more of Kuwana's history and customs."
