"Beautiful shrine with lots of history behind.
In fact the very first, oldest shrine in Kumamoto City. The family in charge is very welcoming and keen to speak about the history of the temple with visitors. I had the luck to see them around at 7:30am on a weekday and amazingly enough some of them could also speak a bit of English. Everyone was lovely, definitely a must-visit landmark to anyone travelling to Kumamoto!
