With each pedal stroke, the scenery changes like a living painting.
Who knew joy could be so quiet, so steady, so endless?
I've come from Hiroshima... and the islands are already far behind me.
It's strange how the road feels like a friend. These bridges not only carry me forward, but also my thoughts.
I'm almost there. Shikoku.
And so, I will begin a new journey."

"The 5th bridge on the Shimanami Kaido from Onomichi. After this bridge it will be quite a long stretch before the next bridge. As usual beautiful scenery in all directions. 😁
There is almost no convenient store or any place of interest until about 4km (about 10km from the start of Hakata Ohshima bridge) before the 6th bridge. So make sure you are prepared.

"One of the six bridges along the Shimanami Kaido bike route between Onomichi and Imabari. The 80 mk. scenic bike route is very pleasant to do cycling, passing through villages, Mikan orchards, a few cafes, ocean view especially on the various bridge decks. Though some bridges are quite high, the slope leading up to the deck is not too steep. There is a cycle express bus between the two destinations so you can cycle either way and take a bus back, very convenient. It is a must do on the bucket list for those who like cycling."
