What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Times Square is a dazzling, high-energy hub that captivates visitors with its iconic billboards and Broadway shows. While many praise its vibrant atmosphere and entertainment options, some find the crowds overwhelming and the prices steep. It's a must-see for its unique spectacle, but managing expectations regarding crowds and costs is key.
"I bought t-shirts, magnets and some other little things in a shop called Sunny side. It's number 10.
I don't know how good you are at negotiating prices, but to me it's too tiring. I prefer a shop like this where the prices look honest and the owner either. We made the calculation of the final price, after checking some bad reviews of the mall, and in this shop we got the right one.
I hope this review will be helpful to someone"

"Interesting place. You can buy everything you want. Souvenirs, clothes, alcohol and other. Clear and large. There is tour agency on the territory and "duty free" zone. You can buy a transition to an American electrical outlet in the pavilion 10 - only $ 2."

"The mall is conveniently located near the beach in Negril. A nice little mall with many souvenir shops you can browse through. Some shops are more expensive than others with the same products so browse first. My family and I were happy to find a small grocery shop where we bought snacks, drinks, other necessary items. The owner and his wife are helpful and friendly."

The 'golden hour' just before sunset and the 'blue hour' just after sunset offer magical lighting for capturing the billboards. Nighttime is also spectacular when the lights are at their brightest. :sunriseovermountains:
Use a tripod for sharp images. Set a higher ISO (but be mindful of noise), a wider aperture (lower f-number), and a slower shutter speed to capture the light trails and vibrant colors. Experiment with manual mode! :camera:
Capture the iconic 'I ❤️ NY' sign (often found on souvenir shops), the TKTS Red Steps, and the sheer scale of the digital billboards. Look for interesting street performers and architectural details. :art:
Be patient and wait for moments when crowds momentarily thin. Consider shooting from slightly different angles or using a wider lens to incorporate more of the environment and minimize people. Early mornings are your best bet for fewer people. :ghost:
A versatile zoom lens (like a 24-70mm) is ideal for capturing both wide cityscapes and closer details. A wide-angle lens (14-24mm) is great for emphasizing the scale of the billboards. :lens:
