"amazing nature"

Roman Marxer

"A beautiful route immersed in nature. At this time of year, the colors of the leaves are spectacular, a true joy for photography enthusiasts. There are some small, sadly abandoned villages, but at Palent there is an open inn and some renovated homes. We'll definitely return."

Daniela Olivero

"The Maira Valley is a beautiful long valley full of activities. From numerous hikes, both easy and for more experienced hikers, to rock climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking, winter snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and more. There are splendid landscapes, wonderful flowering meadows, majestic peaks, and lakes. While hiking, you can encounter grazing flocks and cows, and in the higher altitudes, chamois, ibex, and roe deer. It's not uncommon to spot eagles.
There are excellent inns and refuges. Reconstructed villages in the valleys are worth a visit; I recommend Morinesio. Just outside the village is the sanctuary of Santa Maria, a beautiful church built on a cliff. In Elva, there's the Pels Museum, which tells the story of ancient crafts, such as collecting hair to make wigs, which were sold in Paris. The church of Elva, with its wonderful frescoes, is definitely worth a visit. There are also the Stroppia waterfalls, the highest in Italy.
This is the Maira Valley...a beautiful green valley."
