What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Staffarda Abbey for its beautiful church, impressive altar piece, and friendly staff. The audio guide is highly recommended for a richer experience. However, some express sadness over the ongoing restoration needs and the condition of the resident cats, hoping for more dedicated care and funding for preservation.
"It is a great building, the church and its altar piece are really beautiful, and the people are very friendly and helpful. The audiotour is good too!
But the whole place made me a bit sad because it should be restored properly. The Ranverso Abbey (also ordine Mauriziano I think) was much better kept, for example. Funds for such a project may be hard to obtain, but this place seems to be falling apart and that's a pity.
I also found the state some of the cats are in hard to see. They are quite thin and some of them seem to need a vet."
