What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Cabras Historic Center significant for its connection to the Giants of Monti Prama, but access is restricted to mandatory guided tours, often in Italian. Many recommend visiting the museum first for a better understanding of the site's context.
"Entrance only with the guided tours, 3 in the morning at 09.15, 10.30 and 11.45. Tours might be in English but will be in Italian if at least one Italian is in the group, which was the case for our tour. There is an app with some details in various languages. Young man from the museum kindly explained a lot to us in English while we waited 15 minutes for the 2 Italians to arrive late. 45 minutes in the sun, understanding little, was a disappointment. I'm sure there's a lot of interesting information delivered by the guide that isn't in the app. 7 euros entrance per person for a pensioner. You can see the excavations from the road. Unless you speak Italian, it's not worth a stop. With all the non Italian speaking tourists, perhaps one tour a day could be in English?"

"Third site that's closed for the public, being Tharros and the museum in the city, without it being mentioned online. Oristano is a joke."

"Tip. First see the 'giants' at the museum of Cabras then come here to find where they were found. Magical mystery history. It's an archaeogical site with no frills. A literal 'field' trip which the local farmers have to work around. Hats off to them! Note. The guided tour is 1 hr and.compulsory. book it on the Fondazione Monti Prama site."
