What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Pista Ciclabile del Trasimeno for its beautiful lake views and the admirable effort to create a cycling attraction. The route is generally accessible, with some well-set-up pit stops. However, some reviewers note that significant portions are on roads rather than dedicated paths, and signage can be scarce, making it less tranquil than expected and not entirely suitable for very young children on bikes.
"Congratulations on the exceptional work! Enhance such a beautiful area with a bike path is admirable and a great attraction!
Highly appreciated... very simple routes, accessible to all levels. Stunning landscapes and scenic views, with some areas set up for pit stops. The few unmarked spots are temporarily indicated with signs on the ground.
Well-beaten roads and well-constructed bridges. I recommend cycling the path clockwise."

"Completed the entire bike path. The idea of being able to circumnavigate the lake on your own bike, or a rental, is wonderful, but unfortunately, it's far from the tranquility of a bike path. Many sections are on the road, not along the shore (definitely in need of improvement). And more than two-thirds are in the sun. It's well-marked, but there are still too many sections that aren't safe for bikes. Not entirely suitable for small children on their bikes."
Diana Rose
"We circled the lake on this bike/pedestrian path. We started in Castiglione del Lago, where we rented e-bikes, and from there we rode first to Tuoro, then Passignano sul Trasimeno, Torricella, San Feliciano, San Savino, and Sant'Arcangelo, finally returning to the starting point. The entire route is doable if you're already fit, but otherwise, it's a real pain. It's well-maintained throughout, with very few stretches on the main road. With two stops, it took us about six hours."
