"In 10 minutes, you can take a boat and visit the Island.

You can do a guided tour as well.
It is nice to visit the place."
Wadad Lahad
"Visited the island Maggiore today. Arrived by 10am on the Ferry. $7.50 euros round trip. Be sure to wear good shoes, once you leave the main paved streets of the fishing village it's all stone and dirt pathways that are steep. The views from the island were beautiful, unfortunately neither of the churches or buildings were open to view the fresco's inside. The castle gate was also locked up. I'm not sure if I was visiting too early in the day? I wasn't the only confused visitor either.
The only buildings that were open were the restaurants and shops on the island. But I still enjoyed walking around the village and exploring the island trails. Lots of birds and wildlife."
