Rifugio Arbolle is praised for its comfortable, modern facilities and enjoyable mountain dining, with many appreciating the clean rooms and good food. Lunch service has also received criticism for being slow and inefficient.
"It s a "luxury " rifugio, but somehow too crowded, as close to a chairlift. Super clean and very comfortable rooms. The view is enjoyable."

"Beautiful Rifugio, very nice location of course. Compared to other huts quite modern. Room was very nice, there was a plug and the beds were comfy. Staff were nice and spoke good english, some better than others obviously. There was also free wifi which was a nice bonus. Dinner was good. My only compliant is that when we ate breakfast, most of the food was already eaten by people dat ate earlier than us, which I found rather annoying. Other than that, great hut would stay again!"
Joren van der Zee
"Excellent refuge. We sleep in tent nearby the lake: no wind. The dinner is very good and also the breakfast. For 35/p for dinner/breakfast/night it is more than ok!
There are shower in extra"

Tailored advice for your travel style

The Rifugio Experience
However, its popularity means it can get crowded, especially due to its convenient location near a chairlift. This proximity contributes to its accessibility but also to its busier atmosphere compared to more remote huts. Despite the crowds, the staff are generally noted as being nice and speaking good English, contributing to a welcoming environment.
For those seeking a more immersive experience, camping near the adjacent lake is an option. This allows for a peaceful night under the stars while still providing access to the rifugio's dining services. It's a great way to enjoy the mountain setting with a bit more freedom and potentially at a lower cost.
Dining at Altitude
Breakfast, while also generally good, can be a point of contention. The popularity of certain dishes means that early risers often get the best selection, while those who arrive later might find some items have already been consumed. This is a common challenge in busy mountain refugios, so planning your morning accordingly can enhance the experience.
Lunch service can be a bit more hit-or-miss. Some guests have experienced slow service and issues with order accuracy, leading to delays that can impact hiking plans. While the food itself might be good, the efficiency of the lunch service seems to be an area where the rifugio could improve.
Trekking and Scenery
The proximity to a lake adds another layer of natural beauty, providing opportunities for peaceful contemplation and photography. Whether you're undertaking a multi-day trek or a day hike, the scenery around Rifugio Arbolle is a major highlight. The trails offer a chance to immerse yourself in the alpine environment, with opportunities to spot local flora and fauna.
For those who enjoy camping, the option to pitch a tent near the lake offers a unique way to experience the mountain nights. Waking up to the crisp mountain air and the serene beauty of the lake is an unforgettable experience, especially when combined with the convenience of rifugio meals.
