What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for Santa Maria in Porto Fuori are mixed, with some visitors appreciating its historical significance and specific artifacts like the Greek Madonna and Pietro degli Onesti's sarcophagus. However, others found the exterior less appealing and noted a lack of warmth or unexpected charges during religious services, suggesting a need for clear communication regarding expectations.
"We chose it for our 25th wedding anniversary. When we went to talk to the priest he told us that he would welcome us with the wedding march. Upon our arrival at the church. The main door was closed and we entered through the side doors. The priest had already started the mass without even giving us a glance! When it was time to give the offer, which I wouldn't have given because he didn't deserve it... he replied that for weddings with 300/400 euros there is an organist who plays and sings! They don't have any wedding marches! Never again."

"I stumbled upon it while studying the history of Lido Adriano, which took me back to Canto XXI of Dante's Paradiso, which in turn brought me back to this church. I saw the column with the bust of the Madonna, which survived the bombings."
