"I only saw it as i was cycling past it. Although reg entrance was closed a gate on main highway was open so went in shot some pics ... notice boards in Italian but am sure you can findmore info on wikipedia.... Not sure why it is so sunken as most ruins are above ground level.... maybe marsh land has risen over the years."
