Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the stunning architecture, rich history, and charming medieval village surrounding Castello di Giulio II. The panoramic views from the ramparts are a highlight. However, inconsistent opening hours and a lack of multilingual information on plaques can be frustrating. Some visitors also report safety concerns in the parking area.

"The castle itself is absolutely stunning and definitely worth a visit — the history, the architecture, and the atmosphere are amazing. Unfortunately, my experience was ruined because I was robbed in the parking area across from the castle. This left a really bitter impression, and I can’t recommend the visit without warning others to be extremely careful with their belongings. Beautiful place, but sadly overshadowed by the lack of safety around it."

Safi Hariri

"When you buy your ticket for the Ostia Antica places you don’t have other options but the 18 euros-1 week valid ticket! But then when I went there to use it on the other day you cannot enter the same place again. So I said ok I will go see the Castle. Even if on Google Maps the Castle was OPEN the gate was closed. After looking for another entrance and etc I found a small paper written that the Castle would open at 1:30 pm for some days! Horrible!!! I wasted money and time because of these dishonest and badly informed employees!"

Carolina Braga

"Worth the cost of admission. The views and history are extensive. Only wish the plaques were in more languages than Italian, oh well.
Well maintained and friendly staff!"
