What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Parco Pignera is a park with an interesting mathematical theme, but it's widely criticized for its poor maintenance, with many sculptures and fountains in disrepair. Visitors often find the park to be neglected and disappointing, though the children's playground and the on-site museum are considered redeeming features.
"I did enjoy that park even though it is not in such a good state. Ok, I as an engineer and it is all about the maths that I had to put to use. It is disappointing that the triangle fountain is not working and need of repair.
The Fibonacci series sculpture is in good condition and is a good example of starting with 3. The explanation panel is too hard for most to understand though.
The dodecahedron sculpture is also good.
It is free to go to the park and worth some time. The museum was closed for lunch during my visit, so that will have to be left for another time."

"The park is empty. The fountains there are not working. You can barely find anyone there. The idea behind it sounds good, but unfortunately it’s not taken care of. So until it’s restored/reconstructed only things to do there are museum and pretty good children playground."
Ilia Beliaev
"Not a soul anywhere. The whole park was more or less abandoned. Not a single sculpture was still intact. It may have been a real green landmark right in the city centre, but like most of the city, has been abandoned and left to die years ago. A great shame because the Pythagoras sculptures and the whole park must have been a beautiful sight, not even that long ago. Shame..."

The Mathematical Concept of Parco Pignera
However, the park's ambitious vision has been hampered by significant maintenance issues. Many visitors and locals have expressed disappointment over the deteriorating condition of the sculptures and the non-functional fountains. This neglect detracts from the intended educational and aesthetic experience, leaving many of the artistic installations in a state of disrepair.
Despite these challenges, the idea behind Parco Pignera remains compelling. For those interested in the intersection of art and mathematics, it offers a unique, albeit imperfect, glimpse into a creative public space. The presence of the Museo Pitagora and a functional children's playground provides alternative attractions within the park grounds.
Visitor Experiences and Community Feedback
On the positive side, the Museo Pitagora and the children's playground are frequently mentioned as redeeming features. These areas are generally perceived as being in better condition and offer tangible activities for visitors. Some users appreciate the potential of the park and the unique mathematical themes, even if the execution is lacking.
There are also concerns raised about civic responsibility, with one reel highlighting issues with dog waste not being collected. This suggests that beyond structural maintenance, community engagement and upkeep are also areas for improvement. The park has also experienced instances of fire, further underscoring maintenance challenges.
