What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Carbonifera Beach offers a beautiful setting with a lively beach club and a quality seafood restaurant. While many praise the views, atmosphere, and fresh food, some find the prices high and the restaurant's dress code and QR-only menus inconvenient. The dog-friendly aspect is a definite plus for many visitors.
"The good: Excellent view and the bar staff guys were friendly. I would have given 1 star, but due to communication issues our order was wrong and they fixed my wife's order. So I added back a star.
The bad: 10€ for a burger with 9 fries is way expensive. (We counted and each burger had 9-11 fries)
The ugly: the bathroom is ghetto and the lock difficult. I was stuck in there for five minutes trying to get the dang door open, Erich was disconcerting.
The really ugly: this is the worst burger we've eaten anywhere. Now granted, we are from America and they make killer good burgers there, but these burgers were just wrong. Meat was flavorless, not seasoned and not cooked proper. We weren't expecting much, but it was really bad. If you ha e ever had a descent burger, do yourself a favor and skip the burgers here."

"A last minute decision and the lucky chance to find place, we have been there at the end of July: food was simply amazing, nice atmosphere and very kind staff.
By the beach!!!
Definitely recommended and a must-go-back!"

"A nice, tastefully decorated restaurant right on the beach. Overall, we had a good experience. The food was excellent, the service was good, and the view lovely. Having said this, some observations: There is the bar side which offers snacks and drinks where beach attire is acceptable, and the restaurant side which requires that customers be covered up (no service in just swim costumes). This requirement is not stated anywhere but is strictly enforced by the staff. The menu is viewable via QR code only. While this did not impact us, it was difficult for a table of 4 older people next to us, and the waitress outright refused to relay the menu verbally and walked away. While we did not have a bad experience with the staff, we did observe the unfriendly/unhelpful behavior by staff that other reviewers have mentioned. Both the snack bar and restaurant are pricey compared to other places in the area. Having said all this, we would definitely come again and really enjoyed our lunch."

The Carbonifera Beach Experience: From Relaxed Days to Lively Nights
As the day progresses, the atmosphere shifts, particularly at the Carbonifera Beach Club & Restaurant. This area transforms into a hub for evening entertainment, featuring DJ sets, cocktails, and a lively ambiance, especially during sunset. It's a popular spot for celebrations and social gatherings.
While the beach itself is accessible, the dining and bar areas have specific considerations. The restaurant side enforces a dress code, requiring more than just swimwear, a detail not always explicitly stated but strictly followed. The menu is primarily accessed via QR code, which might pose a challenge for some guests.
Dining at Carbonifera: Quality Seafood and Price Considerations
However, visitors should be aware of the pricing. While the quality is high, some find the cost, particularly for items like burgers (which have been noted for having very few fries), to be on the expensive side compared to other establishments in the region. This has led to mixed reviews regarding value for money.
Despite the price point, many guests find the overall experience, including the excellent service (even for non-Italian speakers) and the stunning beachfront location, to be worth returning for. The associated bar also offers a good selection of drinks, making it a pleasant spot for an aperitivo or a morning cappuccino.
Navigating Carbonifera Beach: Practical Tips for Visitors
Menus are exclusively digital via QR code. If you're not comfortable with this or are with a group that might struggle, be prepared to ask the staff for assistance, though some have reported unhelpful responses. The restrooms are functional but have been described as basic, with some experiencing difficulty with the locks.
For those looking to enjoy the lively atmosphere, especially during summer evenings, expect crowds and a vibrant DJ set scene. Arriving earlier in the day or on weekdays can offer a more relaxed experience.
