"A Beautiful Caravanserai."
MJ Omidi
"The Khajeh Nazar Caravanserai dates back to the Safavid period and is located in Jolfa city, on the banks of the Aras River and the Zia-ol-Molk Bridge. This work was registered on March 7, 2002, with registration number 7744, as one of the national monuments of Iran.
The Abbasid caravanserais had circular, polygonal, two-porch plans, and a caravanserai with a columned hall and four-porch plans. However, a number of caravanserais have different plans with this pattern. Such as the Sabzeh-e-Var caravanserai and the Khajeh Nazar Caravanserai of Jolfa.
This caravanserai has a central courtyard and three porches on three sides of the courtyard. The building is surrounded by three sides of the courtyard and its materials are stone and brick. It has dome-shaped coverings with a pedimented arch. It has a rectangular plan with corridors from the inside to access the rooms. The length of the building is twice its width."
