One of the historical tourist destinations in Bukittinggi. This museum used to be the rest house of the Governor of Sumatra. The establishment of this museum was initiated by Brigadier General Widodo, one of the leaders of the TNI in Central Sumatra. The idea was then continued by Brigadier General Soemantoro and inaugurated as a museum on August 16, 1973.
Now the museum which has a collection of hundreds of weapons from the war era is open to the general public. For friends, this place is suitable to visit, especially with family to introduce children to the history of this nation's struggle.
Hopefully this museum will continue to be crowded with visitors and for visitors to always work together to maintain the cleanliness of this place."
