What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lost World Castle offers a unique, budget-friendly experience with its fairytale European castle and stunning Merapi views, making it a popular spot for photos and family fun. However, some visitors note ongoing construction and maintenance issues, leading to mixed reviews about the overall upkeep and experience.
"Everything was quite okay, there are several spots you can take pictures on, but most are still under construction. Not so many staff attended so, around the construction site might be kind of dangerous and appear "dirty". The building looks well made tho, and pretty cool.
Though, in the game of thrones spot, they chain 2 dogs that look somehow "sleepy"? I just wish they didn't sedate them so they would stay "nice" around visitors. I just wish they would lose the dogs. I don't like using animals as an "amusement" point."

"A mountainside theme park on the slopes of Mt. Merapi (entry fee: IDR 30,000.-) offering free photo spots, beautiful European style castles, a Pirates of the Caribbean park with a beautiful lake and an exotic ship cafe, a Jurassic Park playground, a pigeon house, an ice cream booth, and a food shop. I came with my wife in a weekday afternoon and the place was empty. Korean clothing for men, women and little girls are rented for IDR 25,000.-. You can take a ride around from a rooftop to the lower ground on a unique steerable roller called "geledek" for IDR 15,000.-. Clean restrooms (with free squat toilets near the front castle, and paid Western style toilets near the lake). Some attractions have been closed down (the haunted house and the 9-D cinema). A vast parking yard outside (opposite the place) for motorbikes, cars and buses, with clean restrooms and musholla. Minuses: free WiFi only at the ticket box area; no musholla and no restaurant inside; there were two big dogs (tied near the food shop) that kept barking."

"Waste of time and money.
This place is so run down and not kept or maintained properly.
The whole experience was just sad.
We already started to feel funny when coming down from our transport, as there was no one at the entrance, just few staff at the ticketing counter.
Place is ок, doesn’t smell, but you can see that is just poorly taken care of.
Save your time and money and skip this place!"
