Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise HOS Tjokroaminoto House for its rich historical significance and free admission, offering a valuable glimpse into Indonesia's independence movement and the early life of President Soekarno. The preserved rooms and informative exhibits are highlights, though some may find the space intimate.
"Went to this amazing historical place with my friends from Google Maps Contributors community AKA Google Local Guides last month.
Soekarno, the Father of Indonesian nation, used to live here. They've got pictures and stuff about the Sarekat Islam movement. If you want to know more, there's a guide at the museum. It's super close to H.O.S Cokroaminoto Museum, just a short 5-minute walk. ,And there's this old bookstore on the other side of the street.
You can get in for free, just scan the code at the front. The building looks old but they keep it nice. If you climb some stairs, you can see where Soekarno stayed when he was young. I really liked it, it's like a small museum with a big history about Indonesia fighting for freedom. Good for people who love history, also students, and youngsters . You don't have to pay to get in, but guides can tell you more. And the best part is, anyone can easily get around this awesome old place, even if they have ♿different abilities."

"It's a mini museum with deep background in Indonesian independence movement. Recommended visit for history-buff, students, and older childrens. You don't need to pay any fees to enter the museum, but there are guides that would narrate the museum's and its collection's history."

"This place was the residence of HOS Tjokroaminoto. The place exhibits photos and other documentation mostly about the movement of Sarekat Islam (Islamic Union). There's a museum guide if you need to know more about the history of the place. The place is located not far from Siola building (Museum Surabaya), around 8-minute walk. There's an old bookstore, Toko Buku Peneleh, on the other side of the alley."
