What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Gigi Hiu Beach is lauded for its breathtaking natural beauty, particularly its unique 'shark teeth' rock formations and dramatic coastline, making it a photographer's dream. However, the challenging and often poor road conditions are a significant deterrent for many, requiring careful vehicle choice and preparation. Visitors also note the limited amenities and the benefit of local guidance.
"Please reconsider the road to get here, it takes around 4hours to get there and it was very bad and we didn’t even get there because the road is closed for the roadwork. I hope the government can pay more attention to this because the local residents might have an additional income from the beach, yet the road isn’t properly maintained."

"This place is amazingly beautiful and the view is breathtaking! However, the road to get here is very bad and make sure to drive four-wheel drive car and be careful all the time! The road is steep up and down and it may get even worse when it's raining or after! It's not so easy either to get here with motorcycle! When you arrive, beware of the insects on the track to get to the closer view of the sharks teeth rock!"
Aditya Wibisono
"Not easy for a foreigner to get to this place because you need a local to take you there. If not you better get a good motorcycle or suv.
If you are not into photography you might just visit for a short period. Not sure if it worths the hassle if you are not that serious about it.
Also check the tidal time as the ocean gets really rough and you might not even be able to get closer to the scene
There is a building right at the beach that could serve you some very basic food (better bring your own) and accommodation needs. But once again you have to communicate in Indonesian. I tried to send them messages and never got a reply
I came here with a photography guide so all problems solved"
