What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Lampung Museum Ruwa Jurai to be an incredibly affordable and educational experience, offering a deep dive into the province's rich history and culture. While some note that the interior exhibits could benefit from modernization, the value for money and the breadth of the collections, including traditional crafts and historical artifacts, make it a highly recommended visit, especially for families and budget travelers.
"This museum feels... outdated. The outside of the museum is much better looking and maintained than how it was 5 or 6 years ago, but the inside... not so much. Maybe I'm the one not understanding the concept of this museum, but I feel like they should've modernized this museum long ago. Some parts of the museum is lacking sufficient lighting, the AC units are barely working, floors are fading, and the glass covers are dusty. The variety of the collection is alright. I don't think they've changed the collection that much or at all, actually. Which is a bummer since I would love to see some new things every now and then. Overall, considering the really cheap tickets (only Rp.5000 for adults) and the interesting collection you can observe in this museum, I'd say it's not a bad visit. They've taken the right steps with refurbishing the outside of the museum, and hopefully they'll do the same with the inside. 4/5."

"The museum charges 5000 IDR ($0.50 AUD), which is very good value. There are two floors of exhibits, which many original and interesting artefacts. Most have an explanation in English. The traditional house in the forecourt can only be viewed from the outside."
