What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the absolutely amazing and spectacular views from the Bolafjall Viewing Platform, especially on clear days. However, the drive up the narrow, winding gravel road with no guardrails is a significant concern for many, with some describing it as terrifying. It's a destination that offers incredible rewards but demands careful consideration of the challenging access.
"Absolutely amazing. When I went up it was very cloudy but if you wait 5-10 min clouds will clear out and the view will be spectacular. Definitely recommend it. The drive up there is a different story. Would I drive up there myself? Maybe yes 🤭"
Agnese Snorina
"Most terrifying drive of my entire life! Absolutely would NOT recommend this to anyone. Could not even enjoy the view because I was so traumatized by the insane drive up the cliff. No guard rails, basically single lane winding dirt road on the edge of the cliff. Thank God it was beautiful weather because I cannot even imagine doing that in any kind of rain/fog. If I could leave zero stars, I would."
Becky Salata
"With nice weather you can see all the way to Hornstrandir friðland. With bad weather there is a significant temperature drop and the road gets foggy too."

Navigating the Bolafjall Road
It's crucial to check the weather forecast before attempting the drive. Fog, rain, or strong winds can make the road significantly more hazardous.
