Reviews Summary

The Sendall Tunnel is a unique, historic passageway in St. George's, Grenada, built in 1894. While it offers a quick glimpse into local life and history, visitors should exercise caution due to shared vehicular and pedestrian traffic. It's a functional landmark that connects parts of the city, with nearby art adding to its charm.

"An old tunnel here in Grenada, built in 1894.

Both vehicles and foot traffic move through this structure, built into the mountainside.

Take caution while walking in as there is no "formal" pedestrian path, and commuters simply hug the side of the wall, avoiding oncoming cars, as they walk through the tunnel."

"Nice little old tunnel!"

Arno Broens

"Walking through the tunnel can be a bit scary especially when drivers decide they want to go above speed limit. Everyone walks on one side which makes it easier for vehicles to keep to the other side. I remember one time a truck got stuck and damaged.
It's a historical site and you just have to speed up on your walk through there to avoid vehicle exhausts.

The slowest times are usually before 7:00 and past 22:00 week days and bank Holidays. Sundays are pretty calm as well except if there's a fête."
