What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Grand Etang National Park for its stunning natural beauty, serene lake, and unique wildlife encounters, particularly the Mona monkeys. The park is considered Grenada's jewel for hiking and adventure. However, some trails can be unexpectedly muddy and challenging to navigate, leading to frustration for unprepared hikers.
"We like walking so this was one that we were keen to visit so we could do the trails. Lots of parking, beautiful views. Got there early to beat cruise ship buses. Decided to do the lakeside walk first as that was supposed to be an easier one at only 2km. Found the start of the trail easily enough. But it quickly turned into a bit of a nightmare. VERY muddy, you are literally climbing over tree roots and pushing through vegetation. You are unable to see the lake at all for any sort of orientation. The path often seems to disappear completely which leaves you with a bit of panic! We are really fit but struggled in places and in the end we did turn back as we were so unsure if we were even on a path or not. Did not even attempt the harder walks. Such a shame. The only wildlife we saw was on the way back to the car!"

"Bus 6 from St George, took us there for 10XCD each. Entry ticket was 2 XCD pp.
Monkeys were nice to see in the wild, the guards can call them for you and feed them fruits so they come closer. A nice thing to do when visiting the island"
