What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lindos Beach is praised for its beautiful sandy shores, clear, calm waters, and the stunning backdrop of the Acropolis. Visitors appreciate the gradual entry into the sea, making it safe for families. However, some find it overcrowded and expensive, particularly regarding sunbed rentals, and note the hilly access.
"Pallas beach across the little bay is a hard act to follow, but the Town Beach has really upped the ante since my last visit. There are 2 roads down to the beach. The first takes you straight to the beach next to 2 tavernas. The 2nd road is longer but not as steep and ends at a pretty little village area on the beach.
There are now plenty of places to eat ( all friendly), sunbeds and toilets. I spotted 3 showers and changing cubicles.
The water is clear with a very gradual drop off, very safe. There's also a lifeguard tower now.
The sunbeds are €20 to €30 for 2. If you eat at the wedding venue taverna the beds are free.
There are also electric cart taxis to get you there and back.
Great day out."

"We enjoyed very much this beach due to its calm water, nice sand, almost no waves and because it was close to facilities. The parking if you are lucky, is just on the edge of the beach. Be careful, you must park in the blue zone, and to pay 7€/day. But be there early because the parking is limited"

"Great place to swim. Sand lovers will really like it. Free parking and free use of the beach. Highly recommend you guys to check this beautiful place out."

Navigating Lindos Beach: Parking and Access
There are two main routes down to the beach from the village. The first is a more direct path, leading you straight to the sand near the tavernas. The second route is a bit longer but less steep, guiding you through a charming village area before reaching the beach. This latter option can be more pleasant for those who want to soak in the atmosphere. Regardless of the path chosen, the effort is generally considered worthwhile for the beautiful scenery that awaits.
The Beach Experience: Sand, Sea, and Sunbeds
When it comes to comfort, sunbeds and umbrellas are readily available but come at a price, often ranging from €20 to €30 for a set. A savvy tip from visitors is to check if dining at a particular taverna, such as the one used for weddings, might include complimentary sunbeds. While the beach can get quite busy, particularly during peak season, the sheer size of Megali Paralia means there's usually space to be found, especially if you arrive early. Some visitors have noted it can feel overcrowded, with many boats present, suggesting that visiting during the off-season might offer a more serene experience.
Capturing Lindos: Photography Tips
When packing your gear, a wide-angle lens is highly recommended to encompass the grandeur of the landscape, from the expansive beach to the towering Acropolis. A polarizing filter can be a valuable addition to enhance the vibrant blues of the sea and sky, while also reducing glare. For those adventurous enough to capture unique perspectives, consider a waterproof phone case for close-up shots of the water or a drone (after checking local regulations) for breathtaking aerial views. Remember to be considerate of other beachgoers and respect any local photography restrictions, especially in historical areas.
