Visitors highly recommend the Mehmet Ali Pasha House Museum for its historical significance and well-preserved Ottoman-era interiors. The accompanying statue is also a notable landmark. While parking can be a challenge, the polite and knowledgeable staff enhance the experience, making it a worthwhile visit for history and ethnography enthusiasts.

"If you are interested in history and ethnography, definitely visit this museum. You can see a real example of late 18 century house and learn more about the historical parsonage of Mehmet Ali Paşa.

The personnel is very polite and helpful. They can give you also additional information about the museum.

Please keep in mind that parking in the historical city (including the space in front of the museum) is NOT allowed. Only people who are residents can park. You can park at the port, where there is a big parking place. From there the museum is just 10 min. walking distance."

"House of Mehmet Ali Pasha in Kavala, now is a museum at the old town part the city. Entrance fee is something like 8 euros for adults and 5 euros for student. Next to the museum you can see a huge sculpture of Mehmet Ali Pasha as well.

House has two floors and one big garden. Downstairs, after you enter, there is a exhibition about AfroGreeks, lovely culture and a good documentary. We watched it all through. Upstairs is the house with all parts: Harem, Selamlique, Hammam, Odha, etc... You must visit upstairs with wearing galosh, not to harm the floors. Galoshes are provided at the desk.

Museum reflects the life style of Ottoman Period very well. Each room has different story to be displayed in the TV screen and its own music.

There is also a cafe across the museum if you feel tired afterwards. Parking space is hard to find, maybe a little walking would be better.

A must visit in Kavala."
