A friend of mine once stayed at your hotel and spoke highly of it, suggesting we visit both to see the property and to dine at the restaurant. Last summer, we did — and if I recall correctly, we experienced a chef’s tasting menu. I would rate the meal a 3 out of 5; the dishes were pleasant, but none left a lasting impression. For a property of such heritage and elegance, one naturally expects a more refined and memorable culinary experience.
Recently, I reached out again regarding a potential stay and was quoted €22,000 for five nights. Having stayed at some of the world’s most distinguished hotels — from historic châteaux to contemporary luxury retreats — I must admit, I have never encountered such an extraordinary rate, not even for two guests. I truly cannot fathom what justifies this figure. Considering the location in Kavala, where options outside the property are quite limited, the price seems all the more disproportionate.
That said, I sincerely wish you continued success. I only hope the restaurant will reopen its doors to non-residents — it would be a pleasure to return and perhaps rediscover its flavors under a new light.

"I would love to give a review of the restaurant, bar or rooms for this amazing building in the heart of the old city in Kavala, which has been beautifully restored, but I can't.
Why? I first visited Kavala with my (now) husband in 2019. We visit regularly, twice a year, and have tried many times to book either drinks or a meal there and got nowhere each time. Nothing. Locked doors, snooty attitude and now it's almost completely inaccessible as you have to pay a fixed €22,000 to stay 5 nights, or nothing.
This building is at the heart of Kavala, it should be one of the cities main attractions, a real highlight. Sadly it is closed and inaccessible to almost everyone. It looks beautiful from the street, some excellent bars and restaurants face the building so go to 1901 bar and look at the building because that is as far as you are going to get."
