It holds a church with great byzantine art, and also a very interesting museum with ancient books, customs, artifacts and even video clips showing the life in the monastery 100+ years ago.
There is also the winery with its huge wine barrel and the old man operated lift. You really had to trust your friends back there...

"The monastery is very beautiful, and the museum is worth a visit as well. It has a dress code requiring women to cover their arms and legs, and men to cover their legs. While the rules are not strictly enforced, coverings can be borrowed if needed. Some visitors are checked more closely than others. From the monastery, you also get a wonderful view, and the stairs are easier to manage than expected."

Initally it was accessible only through the main tower with the use of a rope net. The stairway in use today is a rather recent addition.
What you are about to experience is astonishing architecture upon an impossible location with view to a landscape that seems carved out of divine imagination at its best.
Magnificent religious artifacts, ancient scriptures and other interesting items exhibited are a bonus.
