"Magical! Everything is wonderful, from the content to the employees! Extremely professional and dedicated employees. Everything exudes a positive atmosphere. Definitely recommend and go again! Great for kids and adults."
Sonja
"A great place for children, but as an adult, I absolutely loved the experience, a definite must visit for lego fans!
I loved watching the various displays and I liked how the establishment was divided into separate areas with their own theme. There are two enjoyable rides, a movie theater, a decently sized indoor playground, and various areas to play around with Lego.
There's also a nicely stocked cafeteria and spacious eating area.
The only slight disappointment for me was that I felt there should have been some sort of discount at the Lego store in LEGOLAND for those who visited. The prices were the same as any other lego store."

"⭐☆☆☆☆
Very disappointing experience. We arrived at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Oberhausen, but couldn’t get in because it was overbooked. There was no clear information on the website about this, so we came all the way for nothing. At least they should update the website or show ticket availability properly"

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Parents often find that their children are completely captivated, sometimes needing to be coaxed to leave. While the food options are limited, the proximity to the vast CentrO shopping complex means plenty of family-friendly dining choices are just a short walk away. Remember to book tickets online in advance to avoid disappointment, especially if traveling with young children who might not understand why they can't enter.
👦 LEGO Enthusiasts (Adults)
While some reviews suggest the experience might feel a bit geared towards younger children, the creative potential and the sheer volume of LEGO bricks available for play can still be highly satisfying. Consider visiting during off-peak hours to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere. The ability to create your own personalized LEGO brick is also a unique souvenir for any serious fan.
💰 Budget-Conscious Travelers
While outside food and drinks are not permitted, the limited and potentially pricey on-site cafe means you might want to eat before or after your visit. The CentrO shopping complex, where LEGOLAND is located, offers a wide array of dining options, some of which may be more affordable. Also, remember that parking at CentrO is free, which is a significant saving compared to many other attractions.

Navigating LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Oberhausen
One of the unique aspects is the LEGO Factory, where you can learn about the brick-making process and even create your own personalized LEGO brick to take home. LEGO workshops are also a highlight, offering opportunities for both kids and adults to enhance their building skills and creativity under the guidance of expert model builders. The layout is compact, making it manageable for families, though it can feel busy during peak times.
While the focus is on interactive play and building, the experience is often described as more of a 'play center' than a traditional 'discovery' attraction. However, the sheer volume of LEGO bricks and the engaging activities ensure a fun-filled day for young visitors. For adults, the appeal lies in the nostalgia, the intricate MINILAND, and the creative potential, though some find the experience could be further optimized for them.
Planning Your Visit: Tickets and Timing
For those planning to visit multiple attractions in the area, combo tickets are a smart option. A popular choice is the combined ticket for LEGOLAND Discovery Centre and the adjacent SEA LIFE Oberhausen, offering significant savings. This allows for a full day of entertainment without breaking the bank. It's always advisable to check the official website for the most current pricing and any special offers or events that might be running during your planned visit.
When considering the best time to visit, weekdays are generally less crowded than weekends. If possible, aim for weekday mornings or early afternoons to maximize your playtime and minimize waiting times. Evenings on weekdays can also offer a more relaxed experience. While the center is an indoor attraction, making it a good option for any weather, being aware of peak times can significantly enhance your visit.
