Reviews Summary

Visitors praise La Capelière for its friendly welcome and as an excellent introduction to Camargue wildlife, particularly for birdwatching. The accessible trails and well-placed observation decks are highlights, though some note the lack of onsite refreshments and the visitor center's lunch closure. The best time for bird photography is noted as spring. Reddit

"Friendly welcome and a great place to explore wildlife, especially as an introduction to the wider camargue."

"We went in mid June,
the best time for birds is April/May. We heard lots of nightingales and sparrows (and saw flamingoes, but in the lake outside the reserve).
There is a good visitor centre/ ticket office but it shuts for lunch so double check. Once you are in you can come back to the car park and there is a shaded picnic area . Ask the staff the secret of opening the gate from outside when it’s lunchtime and you want to re enter.
There are no refreshments and 2 loos, one of which has soap and water.
There is a clear path to follow round the site and we saw quite a few interesting insects and butterflies. Also saw a solitary bird from one of the well placed hides, if you have time on your side there may be more."

"A beautiful walk along a very accessible 1.5 km trail. The observation decks are well-placed and in excellent condition. Located near the magnificent Vaccares pond."
