"I was lucky to manage my way to Tavarua. As a 'first timer' (there is plenty of people visiting the island for 10+ times...) I was not sure how I go but this it the perfect place to enjoy the location.
People makes all the difference - staff remembers you and is super helpful and welcoming and I had no issues mingling with other guests. Everyone is chilled and friendly. Great location for surfers as surfing is what you do all day long (or sunbaking and happy-houring at the sunset bar :) You can easily meet new people but also have a privacy and your own space If you want to.
There are 4 boats daily to the Cloudbreak + If you pack 2-3 team, you can ask for boat anytime anywhere (all inclusive in your package! :). Also each boat will come with a lifeguard that is always a good surfer too so If you up to some advise, you will get it. So just sit back, relax and do not worry about where and what time to go as the local have all the knowledge you need. All surf spots are around - 10-15 min boat ride max.
Accommodation is right in front of the water so you will be falling asleep while listening to the waves and the whole place is set to relax your body after day in water and soul If you need a bit of a quite time off the rat race.
Other than that there is plenty of other fun stuff to do - kayaking, SUPing, snorkeling, playing pool etc. All inclusive in the package).
There is also a small souvenir shop that has also a little pharmacy and surf shop with essentials for reef surfing off the boat so If you left something at home, you should be fine (dry bags, surf covers, leash, fins etc..) + there is a doctor as a part of the crew in case of emergency.
To wrap it up, it was a treat, first time in Fiji and right to this fantastic location and experience. Highly recommended If you considering it, but book early as it seems to be fairly booked out (like 12 months in advance)"
