What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Big Bula Waterpark is a hit with families and kids, offering a fun tropical escape with numerous inflatable slides and a wave pool. While some visitors note that the park shows signs of wear and can be pricey, the sheer enjoyment of the children often outweighs these concerns. It's a great place to burn energy, especially on weekdays.
"Fun had by kids, but you can see where costs are being reduced (while the ticket prices stay the same). 2 years ago (2023) we spent a full day with our families kids (6 in total, aged 3-12) and there were plenty of staff who seemed happy to help, and most of the water looked clean. Our trip this year involved all the same kids (now aged 5-14) and they all still had fun - but it was noticeable how few staff there were (more maintenance staff than operations staff) and how little anyone helped or regulated things - it was also very noticeable how little water was being run on each of the inflatable slides, often too little to get you all the way down without skidding. The quality of the water at the end of each slide was pretty terrible too. And given the cost hasn't changed, we felt it took away from the experience a bit."

"This is a great place for a family day out.
It's rather expensive to get in but if you stay a good portion of the day it makes up for the price a bit. Also, you can exit and enter the park as many times during that day as you like. I recommend bringing your own snacks so you keep the cost down a bit that way.
It was fairly quiet when we were there on a Friday. We didn't have to wait in line for any of the slides. There are plenty of shaded tables to set up camp for the day. The artificial turf did get very hot under foot.
The big slides are well maintained and have enough scare factor.
The inflatable slides were very hot in the full sun. The water was a little murky in the pools of the inflatables.
All in all, we had a wonderful time and the kids kept going back for me until they ran out of energy!"

"If you are expecting Atlantis in Dubai, you’ll be disappointed, but if you’re expecting a safe and fun almost private waterpark where your kids will beg you not to leave because they are having the best time ever, you’re at the right place! It was so fun. Lots of slides. Lots of shade. Lots of fun!
There is turf everywhere so the ground is super soft.
10/10"

In-depth insights and expert knowledge
Navigating the Slides: Thrills and Tips
However, some reviews note that the water flow on certain slides can be inconsistent, sometimes requiring a bit of a push to get down. The water at the bottom of some inflatable slides has also been described as murky. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall consensus is that the slides are a major hit and provide hours of entertainment. It's advisable to wear appropriate swimwear and be prepared for a fun, albeit sometimes slightly less-than-perfect, ride.
Key takeaway: Embrace the inflatable fun! While not every slide is perfect, the sheer number and variety ensure there's something for everyone. Just be mindful of the water conditions and enjoy the unique experience.
Family Fun on a Budget: Managing Costs
However, the park's entry fee is often cited as being on the higher side. To make the most of your visit without breaking the bank, consider bringing your own snacks and drinks. This is a widely shared tip among visitors and can significantly reduce your overall spending. The ability to exit and re-enter the park also offers flexibility, allowing you to perhaps grab a more budget-friendly meal outside if needed.
Pro-tip for families: Focus on the value of the experience for your children. If they're having a fantastic time, the cost can feel more justified. Plan your food strategy in advance to maximize fun and minimize expenses.
Understanding the Vibe: Expectations vs. Reality
However, for many, especially families with children, the park delivers exactly what it promises: a safe, fun environment where kids can play for hours. The artificial turf, while hot, is soft, and the shaded areas are plentiful. The key is to view it as a great place to kill time and let kids enjoy themselves, rather than a luxury destination.
Community wisdom: If you're looking for an almost private waterpark experience where your kids will be ecstatic, Big Bula is a winner. If you're expecting a high-end, perfectly maintained facility, you might be disappointed.
