What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Zarace Beach's stunningly clear waters and peaceful, secluded atmosphere, making it a favorite despite its rocky shoreline. While the drive and parking can be challenging, the beauty of the beach and the affordable nearby restaurant often make the effort worthwhile. It's a natural paradise for those seeking tranquility.
"My favorite beach. The water is crystal clear, and while the shoreline is a bit rocky, it’s still comfortable enough for towels. The atmosphere more than makes up for it. It’s secluded enough to feel peaceful but still easy to reach by car, with a path leading straight to the beach.
Parking is limited, but if you eat at the nearby restaurant, the owner will usually let you park there for free.
And to be absolutely clear: dogs are not allowed here. Don’t bring them period."

"There is really nothing that difficult about this drive. It’s paved the whole way down and we did it on our 50cc scooter. We were worried with the step hill with all these negative comments but driving back up we zipped along with no problem. This beach, to the left, is absolutely lovely. Big and spacious with nice calm waters, picturesque with rocks you can jump off of. I wouldn’t bother going to the beach to the right, very tight space to put a blanket and much rougher water"

"The beach is small and very beautifull. They have a small restaurant with very cheap beer. I highly recommend."

👨👩👧 Families with Kids

Exploring Velo vs. Malo Zaraće
Malo Zaraće, on the right, is a tighter space and can have rougher waters. Access to the sea from Malo Zaraće might be more challenging for some. While both offer beautiful scenery, Velo Zaraće is often preferred for its accessibility and calmer conditions, making it a favorite for many visitors seeking a more relaxed beach experience.
When planning your visit, consider which side best suits your preferences. Velo Zaraće offers a more expansive area for towels and easier sea access, while Malo Zaraće provides a more rugged, wilder feel. Both are stunning examples of the Croatian coastline's natural beauty.
Navigating the Drive and Parking
Parking is a significant consideration. Spots are extremely limited, and it's advisable to arrive early in the day to secure a place. A popular tip is to dine at the nearby restaurant; the owner often permits guests to park on their premises for free, turning a potential hassle into a pleasant dining experience.
For those without a car or scooter, taxis are an option, though they may be more costly. The drive itself, while potentially daunting for some, is part of the adventure to reach this secluded gem.
