Reviews Summary

Playa Ventanas is celebrated for its unique sea caves and stunning sunset views, offering a visually dramatic coastal experience. Visitors appreciate the adventurous aspect of exploring the caves at low tide and the convenience of its location near Uvita. However, concerns about litter and the sometimes rough ocean conditions are noted drawbacks.

"Beautiful place to experience. Check the world tide chart to plan for the caves safely. Watershoes with a grip recommended, especially for the river. There are market type structures there, but we went early on a weekday morning and there were only a few people and lots of crabs on the beach."

Lisa Colbert

"Great beach with dark sand, rock cliffs on the side and a could of caves to explore. The caves were very cool but even at low tide there where some water and waves coming in. It was a rough day out in the ocean that day. There's a few vendors offering great drinks and chairs and they're not overly pushy. It was a great family spot, not the best sand for a beach but beautiful all the same."

John Howard

"The beach itself is beautiful and the caves fun. No big swell or currents so nice to swim (I've spent a full day here) and there's a stream that the kids loved. The main issue is that it's full of litter: plastic everywhere (bottles, one use plates, straws, etc), food remains, fire remains, dippers and I even found feces (I don't know if human or dog...). A real shame. I would recommend a visit but definitely not to spend the full day here, as the litter all around and the lack of shade close to the water make it uncomfortable.
Just added the trash photos, there are plenty of comments showing how beautiful the beach is"

At low tide, visitors can often walk through these 'windows' to the ocean side, experiencing the power and spray of the Pacific waves up close.TikTokInstagram It's a truly immersive experience that feels like stepping into another world.

However, access to the caves is entirely dependent on the tide. It's crucial to consult a local tide chart before your visit. Attempting to enter the caves during high tide can be dangerous, with strong currents and waves potentially trapping visitors. Shade is also limited close to the water, so consider bringing an umbrella or renting chairs from local vendors if you plan to spend an extended period.Reddit Despite these conditions, the dramatic cliffs, jungle backdrop, and the unique cave formations make Playa Ventanas a visually stunning destination.

Vendors are often present, offering refreshing drinks and a place to relax, contributing to the local economy.
