"We have been holidaying at the Betela Beach House for many years now, usually for 3 weeks at a time, and loved the general location, but now hate the increasing numbers of out of control roosters.
Despite mentioning this to the owners, they seem oblivious to the disruption to their guests when trying to sleep.
These roosters, roost in trees adjacent to the sleeping quarters, and despite using ear plugs and sleeping pills, you can forget about getting any sort of a good nights sleep, because they start crowing from around 2.00am and keep going well past 4.00am if not longer.
They just never stop.
Betela Beach House is just a basic okay place for what it is.
Over the years now however it just needs some handyman attention throughout.
When we arrived the outside shower pipe had been cut in half, we asked why, and were told that nobody uses it (well that was plainly obvious), and as it was leaking, so instead of fixing it, he said I just cut the pipe.
After some discussion he agreed to reconnect it, and it now works fine.
Betela is in a great location, however it is now spoilt by the many, many roosters which now overrun the place, and the owners can't or won't do anything about them.
The owners have always been very friendly, and as an added bonus, we arrive, we have been picked up from and returned back to the airport.
However without decent sleep, I doubt it if we will be coming back here again, which is a pity as we used to love it here.
