"Exploring Tianping Mountain during winter, see the colorful remnants of autumn, a beautiful fiery contrast against the chilly winter air. The rocky climb is adorned with spectacular rock formations - a challenging yet awe-inspiring adventure. Reaching the summit provides a breathtaking 360° panorama of Suzhou, a perfect mix of nature and city charm. A winter trek that imparts a gentle warmth, Tianping Mountain aka "The first mountain of Wuzhong", makes a memorable experience."

"The entry cost (about $6CAD) is very reasonable for how much there is to see here. I returned 3 times during my stay because it was the only place to hike within reach of the subway and because I was so struck by the natural beauty so close to the city. There are FAR more trails up, down, and around the mountain than are listed on the map. Luckily the mountain is small so any wrong turns taken are minor. Learn to take breaks and go up the mountain slowly. As with anywhere in China, be sure to always have tissues and single use soap as the public toilets often do not have them."
