"A great place to explore. Located in St. Norbert just outside the perimeter, a few minutes drive south of Winnipeg. It’s tucked away on its sprawling grounds. The La Salle River winds along the south side of the property. A wedding venue on site has a beautiful garden and a greenhouse. The Trappist Monastery Provincial Heritage Park is also the site for Shakespeare in the Ruins. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area."

"The Trappist monastery provincial heritage Park is an extremely beautiful provincial park located in St Norbert, a few kilometres south of Winnipeg.
The monastery was initially constructed in 1903/1904 and was in use until 1978. In 1983 the monastery was sadly gutted by fire. It is now part of the provincial park and is being cared for by the province of Manitoba.
The setting of this monastery is absolutely amazing as it is situated on the banks of the LaSalle river. The park is situated right next to Southwood golf course.
There is plenty of green space in the park in addition to benches and a few picnic tables. It’s a very calm, peaceful and serene environment, which makes it the perfect place to spend time with family and friends or just spending time to respect.
There is plenty of free parking, no admission ticket is required and it is located adjacent to the world peace pagoda as well as the St Norbert arts centre. The park is also dog friendly!"
