Visitors rave about Big Beach's stunning natural beauty, especially its dramatic coastal views and the fascinating tide pools revealed at low tide. Many appreciate its less crowded atmosphere compared to nearby Tofino, making it a peaceful escape. Some note the rocky terrain requires sturdy footwear, and the powerful waves are more for watching than swimming.
"Beautiful beach that's great if you like clambering over rocks at low tide. The entrance to the beach has some fun puzzles and a scavenger hunt for kids that simultaneously educate them on local wildlife. Before the rocks there is a good amount of sandy/rocky beach with logs to sit on, and some large expanses of grass as well. There is even a shipwreck you can view!"

"Big Beach is small, but lovely. The trails are nice and the views along it are fantastic of the ocean, old growth, and greenery."
Sheila Faulkner
"Somewhat of a hidden gem, in comparison to the tourist-heavy Tofino beaches. Some sandy areas flanked by stunning, rocky shores. Great walking trail that goes through here along the beach. Only a few minutes walk from Ucluelet centre."
