Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise The Grotto for its breathtaking natural beauty, with the crystal-clear turquoise waters and unique limestone formations being major highlights. The opportunity for a refreshing swim and the scenic hikes are also frequently mentioned positives. However, the need for advance parking reservations and the extremely slippery rocks are common points of caution.

"Really awesome trip to the Grotto. Would definitely return. Water was "refreshing" (cool) even at the end of August, but had an awesome swim/jumps in.

1) book parking spot in advance (4 hr time slots, maybe others too?)
2) about 30 min hike to-from parking. Can take several different trail lengths and difficulty.
3) very, very slippery rocks that you traverse to get to the scenic areas. Bring good traction shoes. Watch out for pale-coloured and shinier parts of the rock slabs. Those parts are super slippery.
4) check water depths where you're jumping in. The crystal clear water makes it hard to determine depth!
5) watch the ledge faces, no railings, etc
Big drops down."

"Reservation recommended. If you like a bit of light hiking on a trail, this was amazing. Views are worth the walk, the hike in was about 30 minutes to see the Grotto. Water was chilly which was expected. Amazing looking natural features of limestone. There are different hiking options that are longer for those looking for more exercise. Great provincial park. Lots of parking if you reserve. We didn't camp here but there are lots of camping spots."

"The park is a true gem, boasting breathtaking scenery and crystal-clear water. The two trails leading to the grotto are easily accessible. While the blue trail presents a slightly greater challenge, it offers more picturesque views. My children, aged 8 and 10, thoroughly enjoyed hiking, exploring, and swimming. We visited in July and found the water temperature to be quite cold, yet tolerable. The experience was incredibly rejuvenating. By reserving the 8am parking spot, we were able to appreciate the grotto in relative seclusion, making it ideal for photography. However, the park became increasingly crowded and noisy around 9:30- 10am. Reserving a parking spot is essential, and it is advisable to do so at least a week or two in advance, as spots fill up rapidly. Although the website is not particularly user-friendly, I highly recommend visiting the park. It is advisable to bring a towel, water shoes, and a bathing suit if you intend to take a refreshing plunge."
