"Ideal spot to catch some absolutely spectacular sunsets, and the occasional moonrise! I’m currently using a mobility scooter for a broken ankle and this whole area is very accessible with the flat lightly gravelled path that goes out along the lagoon to the little island area. Plenty of seating along the way on benches or on giant driftwood logs by the water. This will be a regular destination for me for catching evening sunsets without driving too far."

"Great spot to stop by during a Nanaimo trip. It’s a short coastal trail right along the beach with beautiful, breezy views—peaceful and scenic for a picnic or an easy walk. The path runs between water on both sides: a calm lagoon on one side and open ocean on the other. There’s a brief rocky uphill section to cross to the opposite side of the park, but it’s manageable and adds a bit of variety. Overall, a relaxing, low‑effort outing with memorable views."
