"Saysutshun Provincial Park is located on Newcastle Island, and it feels wonderfully secluded, very peaceful and quiet, with very few people around. There are several long trails to explore, and my favorite is the one along the shore where you get amazing views of downtown Nanaimo from the island. The ferry ride costs $15 for a round trip, and the ferry only takes about 8 minutes to get there, making it a perfect little escape."

"Camped for 2 nights and went for a dip in the ocean. Very peaceful place to camp. Lovely weather for the September season. -1 star due to the concession closing earlier then the camping season 😢
Every campsite has a picnic table/s. There's one full flush washroom with many stalls and a shower. The rest are large size, metal outhouses with cement floors. Dogs are allowed on leash. There's a playground near the kayak/bike rental building. See Jeff about renting a bike or a kayak!"
