What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Peyto Lake is a breathtaking, postcard-perfect gem with surreal turquoise waters and a unique wolf-like shape, easily accessible via a short hike. While the main viewpoint can be crowded, many visitors find the view stunning and worth the visit, with some suggesting exploring less-known paths for a more peaceful experience.
"Beautiful lake unfortunately crammed with tourists on the lookout. Quite a few tourists go off-piste to get a better unobstructed view, however causing damage to the natural surroundings.
If you can, go for a walk to the Bow Summit - worth getting away from the crowd and access from the same car park."

"What a view! The short 12-minute walk to the top is totally worth it whether you take the easy trail or push through the steeper uphill path, the reward is incredible. The observation deck offers stunning panoramic views, but if you’re feeling a little bold, you can venture off the path to get even closer (just watch your footing!). It’s the kind of spot that makes you pause and soak it all in. Highly recommend coming early, it gets busy fast."

"A must visit, easy-hike-and-view spot. Highly recommend visiting before sun reaches the center above, like 3pm or earlier during summer. Else you'll see mountain shadows on the lake as seen in my photo.
Only accessible parking and buses allowed near the trail start, other vehicles need to be parked a bit down and a short uphill road hike required."
