Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Alberta Railway Museum for its authentic, volunteer-run charm and the incredible opportunity to explore vintage trains up close. While it's an outdoor, less polished experience, the passion of the staff and the hands-on nature of the exhibits make it a highly recommended outing, especially for families and train enthusiasts.

"Wow! Absolutely wonderful!
Let's face it, this museum is operated mostly by volunteers... and so it is not the typical fancy museum. However, it is just wonderful as a "volunteer rin museum". Great job y'all!

Price is reasonable at $17 ($12 for seniors) + $7 for a train ride."

"I'm not really into trains and what have you but I took my father in June of 2025 and I think I can say without hyperbole that it was a top 5 experience of his life. He was SO HAPPY. There is lots of old memorabilia stuff as well as many trains that you can walk through and experience an era largely bygone. Of note, the staff (despite being relatively young) were all clearly knowledgeable about everything related to the museum and seemed genuinely passionate about it. Great job on not only hiring young people but also finding those who are eager to share the history of Canadian rail."

"Fun outdoor train museum a little ways out! Super neat to be able to walk through all the trains unguided and also have a speeders ride!"
