What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Collingwood Town Hall is praised for its beautiful historic architecture and the iconic clock tower, offering a glimpse into the town's past. Visitors also enjoy the vibrant 'CWOOD' sign that lights up at night. However, some travelers express frustration with high parking fees and strict ticketing policies in the area.
"Parking fees and tickets are absolute extortion, especially for visitors, who can't fight them. Even big cities don't have these kinds of fees. I had never seen a $100 parking ticket (or thought it was possible or legal) until my family and I were 20 min late to our car at sunset park. The online parking system also didn't notify me when the ticket was going to expire and it was not easy to use (compared to a physical ticket). What a scam. Never coming back to Collingwood!"

"We saw the clock tower from a distance and had to come by to check it out. At night time, there's a cool CWOOD sign that lights up."

"Once was a nice place but new boat launch policy wrecked that for me. Had a trailer parked on a site. Paid for a dock. That change for me this year because I'm not paying $100 to park a vehical to launch a boat. To the city of Collingwood. Yes this will help connection. But to what degree. You see you lost all my business. Places will suffer. Boat launches will not see there usual revenue. As well nor will marine repair/sleeping accommodation /restraints/food truck/retail store/money raised from ticket infractions etc...... Still have to pay water police and coast guard bylaw officers ,city workers etc.. As to your problem with congestion you nailed it. For the short time I was in your city how ever noticed harbour was empty. Not one car or person other than the payed worker. Parking lot empty. No revenue. Nailed it. I use to pay my $50 to town harbour and visit 2 to 3 times a year. Use to have a trailer there at $3000 per year. Why did you not maintain a max capacity at harbour parking lot. Post not parking signs with a ridiculous tow bill out side said parking lots to control congestion. Bylaw and towing would make money. Harbour would have a full lot even if they charged $30 to park. Good luck Collingwood hope this works for you and your people. You have lost this family's revenue. But on each side of you they welcomed ower new found business."
