Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Bison Paddock Loop Road a worthwhile and unique stop, offering a chance to see bison up close from the safety of their car. The scenic drive and the impressive sight of the herd are frequently praised, though some note the gravel road conditions and occasional difficulty spotting the bison due to the paddock's size. It's considered a perfect, free experience for families and wildlife enthusiasts.

"Great little stop! Got to see bison up close (from the safety of the car, of course). The loop is short and easy to drive, and it’s cool to see these massive animals just chilling in the field. Feels a bit surreal. Worth pulling over if you're in the area — doesn't take long, but it's a unique experience."

Chris

"I took a drive through the bison paddock loop twice during a recent trip to Waterton. The road through the paddock is narrow, gravel and filled with large potholes, so drive slow and carefully. The paddock is quite large so it was difficult to see the bison during both my visits, as they were hidden behind some of the hills one time and were far away the second time. Though, I was able to get some photos of the bison with the mountain backdrop which was cool. Check out this short drive if you’re looking for something different to do while in Waterton."

Brittany Thiessen

"Went mid September and saw the whole herd. It was amazing. A must see. As an indigenous women it healed my heart."
