⛰️ On 4Aug16 we summited #Polezhan in #Bulgaria. A lovely cone shaped high peak in the Pirin mountain range at 2,851 m (9,354 ft). It’s the highest granite summit and the 4th highest in the mountain range. You’ll see me at the end looking for the official trig - gotta touch the trig! 🤣🤣🤣 🇧🇬

Reviews Summary

Polezhan Peak is praised for its stunning panoramic views and relatively easy accessibility, especially when using the ski lift to Bezbog Hut. Hikers appreciate the moderate difficulty and the unique scree-covered summit. Some visitors note the potential for strong winds and the uneven terrain near the top.

"Relatively easy climb, around 2 hours to reach the top (2851m), starting from Bezbog Hut, after the lift."

Bruno Henriques

"Polezhan is the the fourth highest peak in Pirin Mountain and the highest granite one (Pirin has a granite and a marble part).
Traditionally one gets to the peak from Bezbog Hut along a mostly horizontal ridge that connects Bezbog peak and Polezhan. The hike from the hut takes 2 hours hike and is fairly easy, the main difficulty being the often strong wind on the ridge and the field of loose stones/slabs that cover the peak. Interestingly the loose stones had given the peak its old name in Turkish "Mangir tepe" (Peak of Coins) on account of the clinking sound they make."
