Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the incredible hike and epic views from Vihren Peak, calling it a sensational and unforgettable experience. The challenging ascent is rewarded with breathtaking panoramas. However, some note that the trails can be poorly marked and the final climb is demanding, requiring good preparation and caution.
"My main aim for my Bulgaria visit: the ascend on Mount Vihren. Done! Incredible tour from Bansko over the Vihren Hut, 2000 meters in height (and even more with the ascend of Kutelo and the other mountains following in this range) and 40 km in length. Sensational!"

"On Saturday morning, after a hearty breakfast, we set off by car through the breathtaking Pirin National Park 🇧🇬 – a UNESCO World Heritage site. Pirin is simply captivating, with its untouched nature, scenic hiking trails, ski slopes, and welcoming resorts. By 9:30 a.m. we reached Vihren Hut, where we geared up for our big adventure – the hike to Mount Vihren (2,914 m). A real challenge, but one that rewards you with views that will leave you speechless!
The first stage of the trail isn’t too difficult, though it’s rocky and not very well maintained. Luckily, there’s a natural spring to refill your bottle, but that’s the only one along the way. About 2 hours later, we arrived at a beautiful plateau that gave us some relief before the next push. Around 3 hours from Vihren Hut, we reached the second checkpoint, right before tackling the steep and demanding final ascent to the summit – roughly a 1-hour climb on a rocky, barely marked trail.
Reaching the top of Vihren is unforgettable – an endless horizon opens up before your eyes, with sweeping views of Bansko and the entire Pirin range. The descent is just as tricky and requires extra caution, especially right after the peak.
After conquering the mountain, we were welcomed by the calm and charm of Bansko, where we treated ourselves to traditional Bulgarian food and the warm hospitality of the locals."

"Beautiful park with plenty of hiking. Wild nature and all kinds of tracks for experienced or beginner hikers. The hut is also well functioning and transportation is punctual and cheap."
