What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Maracanã's iconic status and the electrifying atmosphere during football matches, calling it a must-visit for any fan. The stadium tours are highly praised for providing historical insights and behind-the-scenes access. Some note that match tickets can be expensive and the stadium can get very crowded on game days.
"Amazing beach. The waves are good, but the undertow can be strong at some places and you should be aware that there are a few rip currents, these are indicated during busy times. The beach is a bit busy on some days but is less busy in the morning. When I was there it rained a now and then. There are many food stands on the beach, for example, corn, shrimp, grilled cheese, acai, rasped ice with flavouring, portions of food and pastels. There are also people walking around with products to sell, for example, cangas, sunglasses, beach clothes and objects to float with. The beach has some toilet facilities, although it is not the most clean. Furthermore, there are lifeguards on the beach during busy times and there is plenty of police around the beach. There are some free public parking spaces around the beach."
